BVC Vday Bash: FEB 13, 2021

DUE TO COVID, PLEASE REMAIN FLEXIBLE AS TEAMS MAY DROP EVEN AFTER THE INFO IS POSTED AND THIS COULD EFFECT YOUR DIVISION IN VARIOUS WAYS. PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN (WE WILL EMAIL CLUB DIRECTORS IF ANYTHING CHANGES AFTER INFO IS POSTED, IT IS THEIR JOB TO SEND TO THEIR TEAM).

Moody HS & MS – 714 & 697 High School Dr, Moody, AL 35004 (same campus. 2 cts at HS, 1 ct. at MS)

***18’s Coaches meeting will take place at Moody High School shortly after 7am***

18 C: 7:30am start time – Moody HS & MS *updated start time

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION

-Coaches Meeting: Will take place 20 minutes prior to your division start time. ALL TEAMS must have a representative there regardless whether you play first or not. Please also remember that last minute changes can and do happen. We always encourage all teams to be ready to play the first match in case of a last minute change or no show. ***18’s Coaches meeting will take place at Moody High School shortly after 7am***
Admission fee (players and coaches ON A TOURNAMENT ROSTER are free): $5 (ages 5+)
Facilities will be open 30 minutes prior to your divisions start time.
-Please be courteous of other spectators & clear the immediate court area when your child’s team is not playing. 
-Food/Concessions rules are posted at the bottom of this page
-The tournament will take place on one day for each division, Saturday Feb 13th.
TEAMS WILL BE GUARANTEED 8 SETS. Format Varies based on division size.
NO Reffing assignments. In an effort to not have to limit spectators, we are not assigning ref teams. As such, we ask that teams vacate the gym when not playing. Parents from each playing team will be given flip charts to assist with visual score. The up ref will keep up with subs and the scoresheet.
NO Ball carts/balls allowed. WE will provide these for all the teams. Each court will have a ball cart and balls to use while warming up. Since the format is quicker play, you will only warm up for your first match of the day.
NO SIDE SWITCHING AND NO HAND SHAKES.
Chairs, door handles, and balls will be cleaned between waves.
MASKS ARE REQUIRED for non-players. PLEASE keep your mask on and worn properly. Coaches are responsible for their team parents/spectators abiding by this rule. It is grounds for being asked to leave if non-compliance.
-You will be required to be Temperature checked your first time in the gym. You will be asked to use hand sanitizer when entering the facility each time.

COACHES
Rosters will be handed out at the Coaches Meeting to ensure a team’s attendance. These should be updated & immediately turned in to Site Director.
Every Coach should check in. We encourage teams to be ON-SITE for the first match of your wave due to morning of tournament changes that can happen.    
Pools & Brackets will be placed in the lobby areas of each facility. These will be updated by the site director. Coaches & spectators should not write on these.



FORMATS:
3 team divisions (10 club)
One pool of 3, played twice. Each match is 2 sets to 25, start at 4. Each team will play the other 2 teams a total of 4 sets (for 8 total sets played). The team with the best record will be the division winner.

4 team divisions (11 club & 12 club)
pool play (2 sets to 25, start at 4). All teams to single elimination playoff (best 2/3. 3rd to 15 if necessary)

5 team divisions (16 club)
Pool play on one court. 2 sets to 25, start at 4. Top 2 teams after pool play will play best 2/3 in the finals.

6 team divisions (13 club/power, 18 club)
two pools of 3 teams played on 2 courts. 2 sets to 25, start at 4. Top 3 teams will go to gold, bottom 3 will go to silver. Round Robin in the 3-team pools for the playoffs. Team with best record will win.

8 team division (14 club)
two pools of 4 teams each played on 2 court. 2 sets to 25, start at 4. Top 2 from each pool to gold, bottom 2 to silver. Playoffs will be single elimination (best 2/3. 3rd to 15 if necessary).

9 team division (15 club & 14p/15p)
Three pools of 3 teams each played on 3 courts. 2 sets to 25, start at 4 in pool play.
The 3 teams in the 14p/15p division will move into a gold round robin playoff format. The team with the best record in the playoff round robin will be the tournament champion.
The top 3 15 club teams will move into a gold round-robin playoff format. The team with the best record in the playoff round robin will be the tournament champion.
The bottom 3 15 club teams will move into a silver round-robin playoff format.

FACILITY ADDRESSES & FOOD/PARKING RULES

**BY PARTICIPATING IN THE TOURNAMENT/ENTERING THE DOORS OF THESE FACILITIES, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE RULES ON THIS PAGE, AS WELL AS THOSE IN THE USA VOLLEYBALL AND SOUTHERN REGION HANDBOOKS. INABILITY TO ADHERE TO THE RULES CAN RESULT IN YOU BEING ASKED TO LEAVE THE TOURNAMENT (NO WARNINGS), WITH NO REFUND**
RULES FOR EVERY SITE:
Masks must be worn at ALL TIMES except for the teams WHILE THEY ARE PLAYING.
Water/Gatorade only in the gym for players (no other food/drink in the gym)
Balls/ball carts provided (teams not allowed to bring theirs in)
Teams should be respectful of the facilities and clean up after themselves

MOODY HS & MS:
Doors will open for each waves PLAYERS AND COACHES 30 minutes prior to estimated session start time. Spectators will be allowed in once the previous wave exits, but before your wave starts…please know this could mean your player enters before parents can. Please DO NOT try to enter prior to that. In order to maintain acceptable numbers in the facility, yet not have to limit spectators per team, we are asking you be respectful and understanding of this rule.

Teams will have access to ONLY the following areas: Gym, Lobby, Restrooms. Please do NOT enter any other part of the school.

No tables are provided (nor can they be set up) in the lobby. It’s fine to have individual food there (NO COOLERS) to eat, provided you clean up after yourself.

Bleacher seating is provided, NO CHAIRS are allowed to be brought in.

parking is ample at both the HS & MS and it is free.


BVC FACILITY
Doors will open for each waves PLAYERS AND COACHES 30 minutes prior to estimated session start time. Spectators will be allowed in once the previous wave exits, but before your wave starts…please know this could mean your player enters before parents can. Please DO NOT try to enter prior to that. In order to maintain acceptable numbers in the facility, yet not have to limit spectators per team, we are asking you be respectful and understanding of this rule.

Teams will have access to a lobby area that is separate from the courts. We ask the “off” teams to vacate the court area and are welcome to stay in the lobby area. However, we are not allowing outside food in the facility. If you would like to have food, please do so in your car. You are also welcome to set up a tent area in any of our grass that is on the BVC property. We ask you clean up after yourself.

Folding chairs & benches are provided, NO CHAIRS are allowed to be brought in.

PARKING: All parking is free. Our facility has approximately 60 spots. Our neighboring businesses are graciously allowing us to also utilize their lots as overflow. The business names on the buildings are:
WorkSpace (201 Cahaba Valley Pkwy, Pelham) which is to our South.
Certified Mailing Solutions (100 Cahaba Valley Pkwy W, Pelham) which is to our North.
*additionally we are right next door to Walmart which can provide some overflow parking. It is also very convenient to walk over there to get food/snacks (there’s a subway inside too).


JOHN CARROLL HS
Doors will open by 9:15am

Entrance/Parking When entering the school past the gate on the right, the main entrance and parking will be on the left side. 
COVID Precautions Upon entering the campus, masks/face covering must be worn at all times. Maintain social distancing as much as possible. Athletes/Coaches can remove their mask/face covering when on the court warming up or playing. 
Setup Upon entrance to the school, the main lobby (Commons area) will be where athletes/parents will congregate. Tables set up for each team where food/drink can be stored. The tables will keep each team socially distanced from one another when not playing. No outside tents will be permitted (although it should be so cold, everyone should want to be inside).  There are plastic separators on the tables to be used when eating for the teams. Restrooms are located just outside the Commons area.

Food/Drink
Concessions will NOT be available. All athletes/patrons can bring their own food/drink. Only water is permitted in the gym, all other food/drink will be consumed in the Commons area or outside. 
Game Play Only the teams actively participating and subsequent fans will be allowed in the gym. Teams not playing will need to hang out in their designated area in the Commons or outside. At the end of each pool play match, the playing teams and fans will exit the gym before the next set of teams/fans enter. Volunteers will sanitize the bench and volleyballs during this time for the next match.
